STEP TEN

Make Time Your Friend

OVERVIEW

Stay in the driver’s seat

In the same way that gasoline in your car’s tank provides the energy for you to run the motor and reach your destination, time serves a similar purpose. The gas is not in the driver’s seat; rather, it is safely hidden to do its only job. Time requires the same understanding. Time is never the driver, only the driver’s resource.

Use Awareness, Understanding, And Choice To Stay In Charge

Earlier in this book, we wrote of self-regulation as a key ingredient in all of time management. In the end, it is your choices, your will, and your responsibility to be in charge of yourself. This is no easy task for sure, and one that goes on for the rest of your life.
