Starry, starry night

It’s always night time in space. It’s also very cold. Which is probably why no-one chooses to live there. (That, and the fact that the atmosphere is dead.)

We could paint our stars in one at a time, but that would be a slow, painful business. Instead, we can create stars far more quickly by first defining a new Photoshop brush with which to draw them.

Creating custom brushes is a technique we’ll return to again in this book, and it’s worth getting the basics nailed down so that we can make full use of this interesting technology. So here’s a relatively straightforward brush to start us off.
