Saki Asada is a figure
sculptor in Tokyo, born in
Paris in 1976. She moved to
Kyoto in 1982. She began
exhibiting and selling figure
kits at Wonder Festival (a
bi-annual event of figures
in Japan) in 2005. Since
2006, she’s been a freelance
figure sculptor, making
models for Kotobukiya (an
old manufacturer of figures
and plastic models in Japan).
Her first commercial work,
the school uniform version
of Shinji and Kaworu of
Neon Genesis Evangelion
was noticed due to the rarity
of handsome boy figures
at the time. Her latest new
releases are Hajime Saito
and Toshizo Hijikata of
Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan
(1/10 scale, produced by
Kotobukiya and distributed
by Movic).
