The digital revolution has prompted a rapid evolution of the means through
which we entertain ourselves. Media has become less tangible, increasingly
mobile, and available “on demand,” regardless of our locations, informing a host
of new experiences that enrich our lives. The objects that receive, channel, and
broadcast that media are taking on innovative forms with materials new and old,
and hinging their success on intuitive new interfaces.
In a similar vein, children’s toys remain a bridge between the physical world and
the ethereal: that which we cannot touch, but which can inspire cognitive devel-
opment through play and—at the end of the day—simply make someone laugh.
