Dear Lisa:
Seeing that you did not appear for work on your first day of employment with us, we
have no choice but to rescind our employment offer.
I understand from Jack Larrabee, your intended supervisor, that you called him to tell
him that you had to miss orientation yesterday because you had finals. I also checked
with Employee Health Services and learned that you had not followed up with the
documentation you had agreed to give them in order to begin work. Finally, I left a
message for you last night and didn’t receive a return call today as of 4:00. My only
conclusion is that you’ve made other plans career-wise and that our firm’s opportunity
doesn’t meet your current needs.
