Getting Close to Engineers

Developing partnerships between design engineering, sales, and operations can drive a level of competitive advantage that dramatically increases the company’s overall performance. The process of developing new products and supporting existing product portfolios is vital to the company’s strategic positioning. Unfortunately, many companies leave this to marketing or design engineering, who then “throw it over the wall” to sales and production, often leading to weak sales, high costs, long lead times, and other factors that adversely impact the company’s performance.
