Valerie J. Amor, LEED AP BD&C, associate AIA, is a Green Building Certication Institute
(GBCI)-trained LEED certication and educational reviewer with over 35 years of combined expe-
rience in architecture, real estate, and business, including involvement on LEED-NC registered
projects. She is the CEO/president/founder of Drawing Conclusions, which is engaged in sustain-
able design, LEED consulting and certication, and owner and principal broker of Eco Logical Real
Estate + Community Builder, focused on sustainable real estate community building and marketing.
Currently under development is a “mini-city” that will serve as an economic, environmental, and
social living research model that will include a sustainability leadership educational and research
facility along with a unique mobile educational outreach program. Actively participating in sev-
eral local, county, and national organizations and committees, she currently serves on the Green
Environmental and Energy Committee for the Town of Davie, the Workforce One Green Think
Tank, and is a member of the USGBC, South Florida Chapter, Architecture 2030 and 350.org.
Writing both locally and nationally, she teaches students around the country to prepare for the
LEED Green Associate and the LEED BD&C designations.
Anthony DiGregorio, CPP (critical infrastructure/terrorism and design for explosive resistance),
after 28 years as a military police ofcer in the U.S. Army, continued his contributions to the
security and law enforcement career eld as a civilian. Mr. DiGregorio performed duties as secu-
rity operations ofcer with Sverdrup Corporation and was given the responsibility of hiring and
managing a security force of 100 persons to safeguard State Department overseas construction
projects. On completion of this project, he performed duties as a project ofcer, reviewing the per-
formance of Postal Service facility designs and electronic security system designs for the Federal
Bureau of Prisons. Mr. DiGregorio joined Applied Research Associates, Inc. in 1996, where he
served as the principal technical security advisor. Projects experience includes services for BATF
in constructing their new headquarters building, the design and construction of the U.S. Institute of
Peace, and designing the new headquarters of DHS at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital complex. He retired
after 14 years with ARA in 2010 to establish his own rm, Loss Prevention Unlimited, LLC, in
Fairfax, Virginia. The American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International) awarded him
the President’s Award of Merit at the Annual Seminar and Exhibits in 2010.
W. Douglas Fitzgerald, CPP, CFE, CHS-III, has over 27 years of experience in physical and elec-
tronic security and countermeasures design. He has been involved in all aspects of assessments,
design, development of construction documents, and reliability testing. He constantly shares his exper-
tise and methodologies with others in a wide variety of educational venues and courses. Fitzgerald is
a former chairman of the American Society for Industrial Security’s (ASIS) Security Architecture
and Engineering Council and currently a council vice president. He has also served on the Threat
Advisory Systems Guideline Committee and has been involved in the development of the Physical
Security Professional (PSP) examination and Private Security Company Operations and Business
Continuity standards. His extensive background in antiterrorism and counterterrorism for government
and corporate facilities around the world provides him with an understanding of security issues on a
global level. He is a sought-after lecturer on terrorism, black-hat exercises, vulnerability assessments,
countermeasures design, operational policies, and procedures and training. Fitzgerald is a certied
protection professional, a board-certied fraud examiner, and is certied in homelandsecurity.
