Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) (Figure 15.1a) is an energy conversion device transforming chemical energy in fuel gas into electrical energy by electrochemical reactions, which can offer higher efficiencies and environmental advantages than traditional power production based on combustion processes [1, 3].
