Abstract

Since the first cytoscribing of cells demonstrated by Klebe in 1986, three dimensional (3D) bioprinting has made a substantial leap forward, particularly in the last decade. As bioprinting has gained great interest in the medical and pharmaceutical communities, the demand for bioprinters has risen dramatically. Several companies emerged to commercialize advanced bioprinter technologies in addition to a myriad of bioprinters developed at various research institutions worldwide.
