1. Making and moving a 3D object
The best way to learn about 3D modeling is to make your own 3D model. We’ll start with a piece of simple text, and see how easy it is to extrude. This will turn it into a true 3D object that we can then spin around to view from any angle.
This chapter will look at the basics of handling, moving and rotating models, and working within the 3D environment. We’ll also look at setting up the 3D workspace so that it’s easier to view all the tools you need at a glance, without having to open and close separate panels.
