Abstract

Three-dimensional printed models have been increasingly used in many fields of medicine. The most common benefits have been reported in relation to a better understanding of anatomical details, an improved communication between clinicians and patients, and a more accurate planning of treatments. In the cardiovascular field, in particular for congenital heart disease, this last application could potentially revolutionize the management of complex cases, as it would foster personalized preprocedural planning thus improving patient care.
