Modeling the House

For this chapter, we will be modeling the house for our scene. As you can see, we have some nicely detailed concept art, which shows us exactly what we need to produce.

Looking at the concept images we can see that the main materials for the construction of the model are wooden planks, glass, windows, doors, and tiles/corrugated sheeting for the roof areas.

Start by gathering reference for all these materials. High resolution images are best as you really need to see the detail. Also, images that are as front facing (or top down) will be better for texture reference as you won’t have to work as hard to correct them. ...
