33. TWELVE SIMPLE RULES FOR GROUP SHOTS

SOONER OR LATER, you’ll be taking photos of groups, which for purposes of discussion I’ll say is any collection of more than one person (and, perhaps, a pet or two). At home you’ll be capturing friends and family. As the budding photographer in your organization, you may be asked to take a group shot of colleagues. If you’re traveling, you’ll often want to shoot a photo of the group you’re traveling with. In all cases, resist the urge to line everybody up in a single row and fire away. Instead, try to capture the members of your group doing something interesting.
