36. THREE WAYS TO FOCUS IN LIVE VIEW AND MOVIES
THERE ARE THREE different ways to autofocus when using live view or movie modes. Two of them are quite different from what you’ve become accustomed to when framing your images using the optical viewfinder. That’s because FlexiZone (Single) and (Face Detection) Live Mode focus using the actual image on the sensor. The third, Quick Mode, uses the separate AF mechanism built in the floor of the mirror box, which is exactly how autofocus works when viewing through the optical viewfinder.
