High Data Rates in Mobile Communication

Abstract

One of the main targets for LTE is to provide significantly higher end-user data rates than previous systems. This chapter discusses some of the more fundamental constraints that exist in terms of what data rates can be achieved in different situations, followed by a discussion on means to increase the achievable data rates in different mobile-communication scenarios.
