Abstract

The physical-layer functionality of the LTE uplink is described in this chapter. It essentially follows the same outline as the corresponding downlink description provided in the previous chapter, with detailed descriptions regarding transport-channel processing, the uplink reference-signal structure, uplink multi-antenna transmission, and the uplink control-channel structure. The chapter also includes a discussion on the uplink timing-alignment procedure and the uplink power control scheme.
