Access Procedures
Abstract
Prior to transmission of data, the terminal needs to connect to the network. This chapter describes the procedures necessary for a terminal to be able to find and identify cells to connect to (cell search), acquisition by the terminal of the necessary system information, and details on the LTE random-access mechanism, as well as the paging procedure used for the network to contact a terminal.
