Abstract
Performance of a mobile system is usually analyzed using computer simulations. This chapter begins with a general discussion on relevant performance measures when evaluating mobile-communication technologies. This is followed by an evaluation of the performance of the LTE radio-access technology, including evaluation of both the FDD and TDD modes of LTE. It is shown that LTE-Advanced meets and even surpasses the IMT-Advanced requirements.
