Session management
Abstract
This chapter describes one of the key components of the 5G System—session management toward the UE and the UPF. It outlines how 5GS manages connectivity services in a flexible manner in order to support a variety of new use cases. It provides in-depth description of the user plane management and architectures including different PDU session types, how the user plane is controlled as well as the mechanisms used to provide efficient user plane connectivity.
