Mobility Management
Abstract
This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of Mobility Management in the 5G System. The 5GS has several functions that differ from previous 3GPP-based systems including Service Area Restriction (SAR), Local Area Data Networking (LADN) and Mobile Initiated Connection Only (MICO). Understanding mobility management is crucial to 5GS. This chapter provides a detailed description of the main mobility management related functionality. This chapter therefore lays the basis for several subsequent chapters.
