Multi-access edge computing (MEC) is instrumental in meeting the challenging demands for 5G, especially for the 5QI needs from ultra-reliable low-latency communication (uRLLC).

The edge computing provides the possibility of hosting the application as well as the user plane for such applications that require low latency closer to the user at the edge from the traditional centralized data center.
