Chapter 22: Integrated Access Backhaul
Abstract
Integrated Access Backhaul (IAB), introduced in NR release 16, enables the use of the NR radio-access technology not only for the access link to mobile devices but also for wireless backhaul within the radio-access network. This chapter describes NR IAB, including the IAB architecture and the radio-link extensions introduced to enable efficient inband IAB with backhaul and access link operating within the same band.
