Chapter 24: Positioning
Abstract
Global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), assisted by cellular networks, have for many years been used for positioning. However, satellite-based systems have very limited coverage in indoor scenarios. There is a range of applications, for example logistics and manufacturing, that require accurate positioning, not only outdoors but also indoors. NR is therefore extended in release 16 to provide better positioning support, extension, which are the topic of this chapter.
