Projects As a Leadership Development Exercise

Unfortunately, in many organizations the word project creates a negative response. Too many projects are cumbersome and lumbering. They’re populated with people who view the project as a time suck and who lack creativity and enthusiasm for doing meaningful work. Also, because they feel over scheduled, overworked, and overwhelmed, they want to check off the project team meeting on their to-do list and go back to more important work. What is perceived is the belief that projects are a waste of time as opposed to a vehicle for creating high-value, meaningful, fun, and transformational work.
