Peter had an extraordinary, in-depth knowledge of so many topics. Yet there were a few areas of business which he seemed to exclude as a distinct element to study and I never thought to ask him why. For example, I was surprised that he did not emphasize leadership more in his writings or in his classroom presentations. After all, almost every management writer you can name has also written one or more books on leadership, and some of them focus on leadership to the exclusion of other aspects of management.
