15 Body Skeleton Orientations
Introduction
In this chapter, we go over all the body skeleton bones and set their orientations based on the convention from Chapter 14. Before we start, we need to make sure the workspace is set up properly so we can see what we are doing.
None of the bone display modes allows us to see the full bone orientation. With the Octahedral mode, we can see easily differentiate between the head and tail of bones, meaning it gives us information about the direction in which the bone’s Y-axis is pointing. But that is not enough as for the orientation process, we are mainly interested in the X and Z axes. And to see those, we need to enable the Axes option in the Armature Properties view. ...
