Uninstallation
Host Publisher can be uninstalled in different ways on various platforms. For
example:
򐂰 Windows: Use the Add/Remove option provided by the platform.
򐂰 AIX: Use the command installp -ug HostPublisher.rte
򐂰 Sun Solaris: Use the command pkgrm IBMhpsvr IBMhp[enu]
The uninstallation process will unconfigure WebSphere Application Server
including the Host Publisher EJB and Web Servers.
Important: WAS must be running if you want to uninstall Host Publisher.
Problem determination
Host Publisher Server installation trace records are stored in the
HostPubTrace.log file in the system TEMP directory. Similarly, error log
information in the Windows platforms is stored in the setupHpserver.log and
hpserv_install.log files.
On AIX and Sun Solaris platforms, see /var/tmp/WebSphere.instl, InstMgr.log
(AIX only) and WebServerConfig. files.
2.6 Installing Host Publisher Studio
In a Windows system, start the installation from the Host Publisher Studio
CD-ROM with the setup command in the Studio folder. The installation includes
the following:
򐂰 Host Access. It allows you to create host Integration Objects (3270, 5250,
VT); see Chapter 4, Creating Host Integration Objects on page 73.
򐂰 Database Access. It allows you to create database Integration Objects; see
Chapter 3, Creating Database Integration Objects on page 41.

򐂰 Host Publisher Studio. It allows you to create Host Publisher applications. The
Host Access and Database Access applications can also be invoked from the
Studio.
򐂰 Other tools and documentation.
Run the setup.exe localized in the HostPublisher Studio CD-ROM.

You need to specify the directory where Host Publisher Studio will reside. The
default is c:\Hostpub (see Figure 2-18).

Choose the program folder. The default is Host Publisher Studio (see
Figure 2-19 on page 58).

After these few steps, the installation wizard will start copying the necessary files.
This ends the IBM WebSphere Host Publisher Studio installation process. As
illustrated in Figure 2-20, the desktop will include among others the Host
Publisher options for the Studio, Host Access and Database Access tools.
