18 Finding and Keeping a Strong Core Team

Transmedia work is very rarely a solo effort. If you want to make a truly multiplatform project, you’re probably going to need to build a team.

At a minimum, your project needs people with four distinct skill sets: someone to manage the storytelling, the look and feel, the technology you’re using, and the administrative work for the project itself. Sometimes you’ll find that these skill sets happily overlap, and that your writer (for example) can manage the whole project. Other times, you’ll find that you need multiple people to fill a certain role—for example, the people in charge of the look of your project might be an illustrator plus a web designer, or both of those and also a whole crew of set dressers, ...
