On the personal level, there are three ways to make a living if you want to be a transmedia professional: you can be a freelancer, working for whatever media company, nonprofit, ad agency, or other client has a project that month, maybe even moonlighting from a day job; you can find an in-house job as an employee at the sort of company that does transmedia work; or you can go the entrepreneurial route and start up your own studio or agency.
