Introduction

Sitting somewhere between “hard” and “soft” law, a number of corporate governance codes have proliferated in recent years, the principle behind these codes is to demonstrate to shareholders and stakeholders how the organisation is organised and led. The term “corporate” in this case should be taken to mean an incorporated body and therefore applies a broad spectrum of organisations in the public, charity/voluntary, and private sectors.
