ANNEX 1: COMPARISON OF REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNAL AUDITS

Throughout the various standards for management systems, one of the common themes is that of internal audits. Since the ISO9001 Standard for quality management systems pre-dates most other management systems standards, it can be seen that the ISO9001 Standard was used as the model for the internal audit requirements in a substantial manner. The requirements are either used almost verbatim (ASIS SPC.1) or employ significantly similar phrases or concepts.

The following table includes the various internal audit requirements extracted from their parent Standard.
