10. Project Management Oversight

The previous chapter examined techniques to ensure that projects are executing correctly. As an executive, you develop the overall goals and doctrine for project oversight, then you delegate this responsibility to some organizational entity (such as the PMO or quality assurance). Your responsibility is to make sure that the organizational entity is doing its job using the techniques addressed in that chapter. Specifically, you want to ensure that 1) each discipline under your responsibility performs at its peak and that 2) the organization’s culture promotes growth, quality, and success.
