Imagine trying to teach someone to ski by only writing a book for them. That was the predicament we were in when we began the process of writing this book. Many people say that coaching, like skiing and good management, is more of an art than a science. There are many components and nuances that make up successful coaching, and trying to break them all down and lay them out for someone to pick up is tricky. To teach someone to ski through a book, you would have to outline a basic formula for success and then add tons of tips on all the intricate nuances it takes to be a good skier.
