My wife Margaret and I were familiar with Tucson from our previous visit during my leave of absence from the Chicago Sun-Times. Our good friends Tim and Linda Caravello had left Chicago for Tucson years earlier, with their three daughters packed into a converted Chevy van. And so, the way was paved for our move to Tucson.
