Workflow and Transmission
In terms of breaking news, it’s important to download your pictures and edit, caption, and transmit your files expeditiously or another photographer may publish the story before you—unless you have the advantage of being the only photographer on scene. In today’s world of iReporters and pedestrian photographers, that’s unlikely.
Connect and back up your work
Be sure to have a reliable laptop and external hard drive to download and store your work. Also consider using an online archive system such as PhotoShelter or Dropbox where you can back up your edited and captioned images and share them with people around the world.
