This chapter examines the background information, meeting notes, and preliminary paperwork that make up the artistic portion of the research and analysis stage of a lighting design.
In an ideal world, the negotiation and signing of the contract supersedes all of these activities. Since the contract is a fundamental parameter, however, it’s included “out of order” in the next chapter, along with the other physical and financial limits associated with each show.
