Wireframes and prototypes are ways to validate the proposed functionality, content hierarchy and structure, functional behaviors, and interaction of a product before a line of code (generally) has been written. When combined with site maps, task flows, or both, they become a powerful tool in your kit to validate that you’re meeting user needs while working toward the goals of the product. Wireframes and prototypes may be presented as sketches or as static grayscale content without many graphical elements.
