SAS Statements
SAS programs
are made up of steps, and steps are made up of statements. Remember,
you are learning a new language, and when you create a SAS program,
as with any programming language, there are rules to follow. Your
SAS program is constructed of DATA and PROC steps. DATA
steps are typically used to create SAS data sets. PROC
steps (PROCedures) are used to process SAS data
sets (or, in other words, to generate reports and sort data). The
