It’s All in the Setup
Half the failures of this world arise from pulling in one’s horse as he is leaping.
Even though we already know how to dialogue, most of us forget to use what we know. The time to help people remember what they know is before they begin. Once into dialogue, directive interruptions from you may take the group off track. Set it up right in the beginning and once they are into it, all you need do as a facilitator is make small reminders.
I recommend that you take the first half of a full day and devote it to dialogue to present models, facilitate experiences, and set the stage so that people expect a dramatically different communication experience. ...
