It’s the last chapter and I already did a summary in the previous chapter. There’s nothing left to do but end on a message of hope. And that’s what this book is meant to be, really. We have been laboring under a mistaken view of IT for a number of decades—perhaps not surprising when you have a brand-new discipline created ex nihilo by a bunch of playful, passionate, socially inept geniuses. But we’ve learned stuff, and if we can break out of the old model, the learnings promise a new generation for IT leaders.
