Abstract
This chapter primarily reviews the available literature in the field under study. Accordingly, it will account for the definitions of concepts and issues that affect preventing cooperative black hole attacks in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) with ad hoc on demand distance vector routing protocol (AODV) routing protocol. The first part of this chapter will delve on describing wireless networks, ad hoc networks, and MANETs.
