I've been using Live as my primary track and soft synth resource with Sugarland and Train for the past 4 years. I can quickly and confidently adjust tempo, arrangement, and routing and not miss a beat. Whether it is the surprise addition of a Mardi Gras Indian dance break or trying an idea on a whim, I get to tell my band mates “sure” rather than “I need a day to reprogram that.” As part of my rig, Live 8 functions like an extra instrument rather than an unvarying burden.
