Understanding HTML

Even simple HTML commands can produce quite attractive and complete Web pages. For example, consider how simple the HTML code is in Listing 17.1. You should have little trouble following the commands even if HTML is new to you.


Thanks to WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) HTML editors, most HTML commands can be produced automatically. For example, Microsoft FrontPage enables you to drag items onto a screen from a toolbox and type text in text boxes to create your Web pages visually. FrontPage then translates the page into HTML commands for you.
