Working with Send/Receive Groups and E-mail Accounts

A send/receive group consists of one or more e-mail accounts and all the settings for sending and receiving e-mail for the group. The default send/receive group is named All Accounts. You can create other send/receive groups, and an e-mail account can belong to one or more send/receive groups.

Send/receive groups are useful in a number of ways, giving you complete control over your e-mail accounts:

  • You can enable or disable an individual account in a group without having to remove the account completely.

  • You control whether the e-mail accounts in a group send and receive e-mail at scheduled intervals, when Outlook exits, or on demand.
