Recording Contact Activities

Every Outlook item, such as an e-mail or a task, has a Contacts field that is used to link the item to one or more contacts. The Activities tab in a contact form shows Outlook items linked to the contact. Activities support basic contact management functionality by providing a location where you can view everything stored in Outlook related to the contact.

Creating a Link to a Contact

You create a link to a contact in the item you want to link to that contact. For example, to link an appointment to a contact, do the following:

Open an appointment, as shown in Figure 6.14, by selecting File, New, Appointment and click Contacts.
