started—up to 30 minutes before you got around to pressing the Rec button. (Of
course, that will work only if My TV was tuned to that channel before you issued the
record command.)
To stop the recording, just press Stop. However, unlike most VCRs, My TV will first
ask whether you really want to stop recording (see Figure 8.1).

As described previously, My TV’s one-touch recording feature (see Figure 8.2) is so
simple that it hardly bears mentioning: Highlight the listing for the show you want,
and press Rec. Just remember, though, that for My TV to successfully execute a timed
recording based on your one-touch request, your Media Center PC needs to remain
turned on, operating in either standby mode or hibernation mode (for details about
standby and hibernation modes, see Chapter 4, “Navigating XP Media Center’s ‘10-
Foot’ Interface”).
