Many of us receive phone calls from telemarketing firms citing information which was provided by their contracting firms through the Internet, financial applications, credit bureaus, mailing lists, surveys, and the like. We are stunned by certain facts that these firms may know about us. Therefore, during the creation and administration of databases there needs to be a clear set of policies, procedures, and guidelines for the collection, usage, dissemination, and administration of customer information and of our choices about the data.
