The ability to delegate effectively is critical to a leader's success. On a regular basis, a leader must decide which tasks should be undertaken personally and which should be delegated. It is a necessary part of the leader's role as he or she works with, and through, others to get work done. Hold on too tight, and risk being isolated and overwhelmed. Delegate too much, and risk losing control and accountability.
