For most of our adventure throughout ACCEPTED! I've largely focused on speaking to the students. In my experience, the students who ultimately gain admission to these top universities generally (with very few notable exceptions) have strong intrinsic motivation. They are competitive, they want to do well, and they recognize the role that university will have in catalyzing their career.
Not every student starts this way, but everyone who ends up thriving throughout high school tends to be defined by these traits. But, behind every successful student is usually a devoted parent (or two). Behind them are often some devoted grandparents.
