The overwhelming feeling among many of us is a sense of helplessness with the state of our nation. Our inner voice echoes the words, ‘no point complaining, nothing will change’, and resonates with the ‘chalta hai’ attitude, penetrating deep into the Indian soul. The prevalence of this thinking paralyses our hope for the future. We must seek to break free from this ‘complacency trap’. Increased importance should be given to the engagement of citizens, with public officials in an organized manner.
